Removing a word from the blacklist in WordPress will not automatically affect any comments or posts that have already been blocked or sent to the trash due to that word. Once a comment is in the trash, it remains there until you manually review and decide whether to delete it or restore it. The blacklist feature works by filtering new comments before they are published or held in the moderation queue. It does not retroactively change the status of comments that were already processed and blocked based on the blacklist criteria.

If you want to review or restore comments that were previously blocked by the blacklist feature, you will need to go to the trash in your WordPress admin dashboard, find the comments that were affected, and decide whether to delete them or restore them. This manual review process is necessary because the blacklist function operates on a real-time basis, checking new comments against the list of blacklisted words or phrases as they are submitted
